Booking flights can quickly ruin any good trip especially when there are no direct flights available from your location. Indian and international flight carriers have been launching a host of new international flight routes from major cities in India. Many of these are firsts, while some offer more viable options on already existing routes, with cheaper fares or higher frequencies. Between September and December this year, there are new direct flights from Delhi to Egypt, Ahmedabad to Malaysia and Goa to Abu Dhabi.
But, but, but...here are the new international flights to look out for this season:
Bengaluru to Munich
Lufthansa is starting the first direct flight from Bengaluru to Munich this November, a service that was stalled due to the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020. Operating thrice a week, the almost 10-hour flight will depart at 2.50 a.m. on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. A one-way ticket starts from Rs31,900.
Amritsar to Kuala Lumpur
AirAsia X has reinstated its direct flights from Amritsar to Kuala Lumpur, offering a cheaper alternative to Malindo Air. There will be four weekly flights on Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. A one-way ticket starts from Rs6,000.
Thiruvananthapuram to Kuala Lumpur
With Malaysia Airlines’s new flight routes, there’s a cheaper option to fly from Thiruvananthapuram to Kuala Lumpur. Launching on 9 November, the direct route between the two destinations will have two flights running weekly on Mondays and Fridays. The flight duration is just over four hours. A one-way ticket starts from Rs8,900.
Ahmedabad to Kuala Lumpur
Starting 1 December, Ahmedabad will get its first direct flight to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Malaysia Airlines will run flights four times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The five-and-a-half hour flight will depart at 10.40 pm or 2.55 am, depending on the day you pick. A one-way ticket starts from Rs18,900.
Delhi to Cairo
There’s a new direct route from Delhi to Egypt. The country’s national carrier Egyptair launched nonstop flights to Cairo in August. Till now, it had direct flights from Mumbai, but now the airline will also fly out from Delhi on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Departure time for the seven-hour flight is 5.40 pm on Sundays and Fridays and 1.50 am on Mondays and Saturdays. A one-way ticket starts from Rs33,000.
